While hiking with my husband in the Gorge, I became inspired by the amazing waterfalls and fresh forests. I knew I just had to do a wedding shoot in those trailheads. What transpired next was a ragamuffin effort to style a wedding shoot, while limited to only what we could carry. We settled in at Elowah falls, as well as a creek next to Multnomah Falls Lodge, two gorgeous locations. Not too big of a deal if you are just carrying yourself and a water bottle; but more difficult if you are carrying props, a bucket of florals, a massive camera bag, table settings or wearing a wedding gown (as our model was). It was a day of adventure, scaling rock walls and up-to-the-neck water (REALLY)....but oh so worth the physical effort.

In the end, I was really pleased with the lush colors (gorgeous florals by Swoon!) and beautiful Pacific Northwest terrain, as well as the sense of freedom and peace that exude from the photos. I could not have accomplished this without the help of my good friends Debbie and Tela, whom really helped to secure the tone and feel of the shoot. We were mostly shooting for the sheer love of the Gorge and photography in general, without expectation of publication due to the late summer nature of the shoot. I think there is a special sense of imperfect perfection to these pictures. I hope you enjoy them.

Special thanks to our lovely vendors, who gave their impeccable talents to this little shoot so generously. Also thanks to Artfully Wed for the full-length feature, SEE HERE.
