It's easy to forget how green my part of the country is. Portland is particularly fresh right now as we've had a spell of hard rain. This spell will most likely last the next 7 months...and I'd like to point out that we don't believe in umbrellas. Thus, we're a complicated bunch of people.
Yesterday I was able to explore the Portland Japanese Gardens with my friend Debbie. She came into owning a new camera recently and while I'm no expert...we were able to practice shooting together and I handed her a few tips I've learned along the way, however basic.
Sadly this is the first time I've been to the gardens and I'm excited to visit them again during a different season and compare my photos. It's a very peaceful, quiet place (obviously) and it was even more serene with the light rain that was falling. This rain became more intense at moments...which allowed me to capture some cool droplets in the water, which I love the look of.
Autumn is probably my favorite time of year...with the beautiful colors and crisp evenings. Though lately the evenings have just been wet. I guess that's okay too though...rain on a roof aint so bad right?
What a beautiful day that was, perfect way to spend an unexpected day off. What is your favorite fall past-time?
PS: I believe I promised a fun DIY project this week...unfortunately it involved spray paint and the only place I can do that is my porch (since I live in an apartment). This of course doesn't really work when it's pouring outside since it's uncovered. Here's hoping I get a clearing so I can share it soon!
