Book Love: "Nomad: A Global Approach to Interior Style"

All Book Photos & Styling by JARFLY

I've been dying to get my hands on this book for over a year now and I finally snatched it up. Sibella Court is somebody who's work I'm newly becoming acquainted with...and I have to tell you she's hands down my favorite stylist (and she's a famous one at that!). Nomad: A Global Approach to Interior Style is one of the most lovely books I've ever honestly takes my breath away.

Sibella is a globetrotter (to say the least) as well as Anthropologie stylist. She's also written and styled for publications such as Travel + Leisure, Town & Country, and Real Simple....not to mention Harper's Bazaar and Vogue Living. Growing up in Australia, she developed a deep love for beach side oddities and outdoor textures...all of which dapple each and every page of this gorgeous book.

Close up

Personally, I lived in Florence, Italy at age 19 (10 years ago!)...and have visited Uganda, East Africa twice. In addition I've been lucky enough to visit Canada, France, England & Switzerland. The glory of travel and grand adventure (as pretentious as I risk sounding) often tugs at my heart when the rest of the world has gone to sleep. I lay in bed dreaming of colors and smells that I'm not used to...tastes from food I've yet to try. I long for the hustle and bustle of streetcars I don't recongize and languages I cannot understand.

For this reason, Sibella's book absolutey engrossed my senses and left me feeling encouraged...if even satisfied until my future travels arise. Nomad is filled with plenty of tips on how to use your world travels for interior exploration at your own home as well as how to pair different colors and textures from around the world with your own personal style. I love that Sibella isn't afraid to allow the palette to become disheveled and messy to accomplish the whimsy and warmth of travel.

If you haven't already, DO stop by Sibella's lovely boutique The Society Inc., which is filled with all sorts of treasures and wonders. Also, Grace Bonney of Design*Sponge recently shared this podcast interview with Sibella will love hearing (in her own words) what drives her creativity and love of all things cultural. AND if that wasn't enough...head back over to Design*Sponge to take a look at Sibella's Home Tour, which is chalk full of all sorts of beautiful ideas.

I hope you enjoyed learning about Nomad....and if so you'll also love these other amazing books by Ms. Court like A Stylist Guide to NYC and ETC.
